ZOOM WORKPLACE · CONNECTION GUIDE

Connect live Zoom presence. Keep the meeting private.

Presence uses one limited Zoom signal to help answer whether now is a good time to interrupt. It does not access meeting audio, video, chat, recordings, transcripts, titles, or participants.

WHAT PRESENCE RECEIVES

A status signal, not the meeting.

Supported presence state

Your own simplified Zoom presence status, such as available, busy, away, or in a supported meeting state.

×No meeting content

No audio, video, chat, recordings, transcripts, meeting names, invitees, participants, or files.

Automatic reevaluation

When the Zoom signal changes, Presence checks the other calendar, call, schedule, and manual signals you approved.

CONNECT ZOOM WORKPLACE

Four steps, from your Presence dashboard.

  1. 1Sign in to Presence

Use the same email address associated with the Presence account that should receive your live Zoom availability signal.

  2. 2Open Meetings & calls

In the Presence dashboard, choose Connections, expand Meetings & calls, and select + Zoom Workplace.

  3. 3Approve the limited connection

Sign in to Zoom and approve Presence. The connection requests only the permission needed to read your own simplified Zoom presence status.

  4. 4Confirm it is connected

Zoom Workplace appears under Meetings & calls with a Connected label. Presence will reevaluate your status as supported Zoom activity changes.

HOW IT BEHAVES

Zoom contributes one signal to the final answer.

A manual override can intentionally take control. Higher-priority live signals and calendar context may also affect the final wording. Presence never exposes the Zoom data behind that answer on a shared view.

REMOVE ACCESS

Disconnect whenever you want.

The cleanest removal starts in Presence so the encrypted Zoom credential stored for the connection is deleted.

1Remove it from Presence

Sign in to Presence, open Connections → Meetings & calls, then select the × beside Zoom Workplace and confirm Disconnect. Presence asks Zoom to revoke the authorization before deleting its encrypted local credential.

2Follow any cleanup notice

If Zoom cannot confirm revocation, Presence keeps the connection when it is safe to retry or links you to Manage → Added Apps for manual removal. Removing Presence in Zoom also sends a signed deauthorization notice that deletes the matching local connection.

3Delete everything if needed

Presence account deletion removes the Zoom connection along with the rest of the account data. Review Zoom Added Apps afterward to confirm provider-side removal.
